Renowned singer Ali Zafar has pledged a reward of Rs.1 million to Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, who recently made history by winning the country’s first-ever individual Olympic gold medal in Paris.
Arshad Nadeem ended Pakistan’s 32-year Olympic medal drought on Thursday night by clinching gold in the javelin final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, achieving a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters. This throw not only secured his victory but also set a new Olympic record.
In recognition of Nadeem’s extraordinary achievement, Ali Zafar announced that he would honor the Olympian with a Rs.1 million reward through his foundation. The announcement was made via a post on X, where the Jhoom singer celebrated Nadeem’s success and urged the nation to give him the recognition he deserves.
“Arshad Nadeem breaks record with 92.97 and wins gold for Pakistan! I shall be honouring him with a one million reward through @AliZFoundation.” Zafar wrote.

“Let’s show our heroes the celebration they deserve. I urge @GovtofPakistan @CMShehbaz to welcome him like a hero and establish a sports academy in his name,” he urged.
Zafar also called on the government and relevant authorities to celebrate Nadeem’s victory appropriately, suggesting the establishment of a sports academy in his name. He emphasized the importance of supporting athletes, stating that with the right backing, Pakistan could secure multiple gold medals annually.
