Shani Arshad is a renowned Pakistani music director, composer, and singer who began his musical journey at a very young age. Over the years, he has collaborated with many of the country’s top pop artists, including Junaid Jamshed, Fakhir, Shehzad Roy, and Ali Zafar.
Shani Arshad has also created and performed numerous popular OSTs for well-known Pakistani dramas such as “Fitoor,” “Farq,” “Khudparast,” “Bayhadh,” “Siyani,” “Aye Musht E Khaak,” “Raaz E Ulfat,” and the highly acclaimed “Tere Bin.” Additionally, he has composed music for films like “Na Maloom Afraad,” “Quaid E Azam Zindabad,” among others.
In a recent appearance on the podcast, Shani Arshad shared insights from his musical journey and offered advice to prominent Pakistani singers, including Atif Aslam and Asim Azhar.
He also mentioned Kaifi Khalil and discussed the prevalent use of auto-tuner, highlighting its necessity in today’s electronic music landscape.
While giving advice to Atif Aslam, Shani Arshad said, “Atif Aslam should stop thinking big of himself, it is his problem, he thinks that he’s a bigger person”.
He also gave advice to other singers, including Asim Azhar, Ali Sethi, and Ali Zafar. He suggested that Asim Azhar should focus on his styling to enhance his profile along with his good music.
He advised Ali Sethi to try singing a song in English. For Ali Zafar, he mentioned wanting to remake “Jhoom” with some changes he envisioned for “Dil Jhoom Jhoom.”
Talking about the future of Pakistani singers, he said, “The music scene isn’t that vibrant as we don’t see singers producing hit after hit songs, for example, Kaifi Khalil sang another song after Kahani Suno but it didn’t pick up, although, it was a beautiful song”.
