Afaq played a pivotal role in shaping the music landscape of the country, contributing as a guitarist for numerous famous Pakistani pop singers and assisting in live concerts. As the former head of the music department at the Arts Council of Pakistan, he dedicatedly taught and discovered talented young musicians.

His recent battle with stage 4 stomach cancer led to his demise at 12:30 PM, as confirmed by Armaan Raheem of the Arts Council Pakistan (ACP). Adnan Afaq’s students, mourning his loss, are paying tribute to their mentor.
