During the discussion, she revealed that she, too, has been a victim of child molestation and highlighted the unfortunate reality that even one’s own family may be unwilling to acknowledge such incidents.
She broke into tears while she talked about little Zainab’s case. She narrated “how she met the family and how things moved forward at the time. Faryal also narrated how strong the belief of Zainab’s father was when he was trying to get justice for his little daughter.”
Feryal narrated her own story that “how as a four-year-old child she became a victim. They were traveling on a cruise when she was targeted by a steward. Feryal was off to get some vanilla ice cream when she crossed paths with that tormentor and she was not even able to tell her mother that something bad happened. She added that to this day, after 60 years, she still cannot eat vanilla ice cream as it makes her remember that day.”
