Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is set to reunite with filmmaker Farah Khan for a sequel to their 2004 blockbuster Main Hoon Na. According to recent reports, Farah is currently working on developing a storyline for Main Hoon Na 2, which will be produced under Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s banner, Red Chillies Entertainment.

A source close to the project revealed, “Main Hoon Na was the inaugural film of Red Chillies Entertainment and holds a special significance for the couple.” The film was a major hit and marked the beginning of a successful collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan.

Farah has reportedly crafted an exciting concept for the sequel, which has already received Shah Rukh Khan’s approval. Currently, she is working closely with her team and the writers at Red Chillies to finalize the screenplay.

Insiders claim that Shah Rukh Khan is highly excited about the project but wants to ensure that the sequel surpasses the original. If Main Hoon Na 2 materializes, it will mark the fourth collaboration between Shah Rukh and Farah after Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and Happy New Year.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a review meeting on the task management system established for the privatization process of the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and its monitoring.

The prime minister while chairing the review meeting here at the Prime Minister’s Office underlined that privatization of state-owned enterprises was part of the government’s Uraan Pakistan economic reform and transformation initiative.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion emphasised that everyone would have to work together for the development of Pakistan. “I will not allow further losses in SOEs that are wasting the valuable resources of the Pakistani people.

The government’s job is not to do business, but to provide policy measures and facilities for business and investment,” the prime minister said.

He added that the government was rapidly heading towards improving the economy with timely and necessary reforms.

The privatization process of the designated institutions should be accelerated without compromising on transparency, the prime minister said.

Prime Minister Sharif directed to hire services of lawyers of good reputation to remove legal obstacles in the privatization process. “I am personally monitoring the privatization process, no kind of delay will be accepted,” he said.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was presented with a review of the task management system created for privatization.

The meeting was also informed about the specific period for privatization of various institutions. The meeting was informed that the privatization of federal government institutions was divided into three phases.

In the first phase, ten institutions would be privatized, in the second phase, thirteen, while in the third phase, the privatization of the remaining institutions would be ensured.

LHC issues notices to federal govt, other on plea against PECA laws

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) has issued notices to the federal government and others as it admitted a petition filed against Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act(PECA) 2025 for preliminary hearing.

Justice Farooq Haider conducted hearing on the petition filed by the Federal Union of Journalists, asking court to declare the controversial law null and void.

The petition filed by the Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) states that the PECA Bill was brought without consultation with the relevant stakeholders and journalist organizations. The approval of the PECA Amendment Bill will affect freedom of expression provided in the constitution.

The petition has requested the PECA Amendment Law 2025 to be declared unconstitutional and urged it to be annulled, saying that the PECA Amendment Act contradicts the protection of freedom of expression given in the constitution.

Later, the court approved the petition against the PECA amendment law for a preliminary hearing and issued notices to the federal government and others.

The petition to annul the PECA was filed by Federal Union of Journalists, in which the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), including others, were made parties.
