KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has been shifted to solar system and historical building becomes first government body in Pakistan to embrace solarisation.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab, while claiming to be the work of transferring the building to solar system at a cost of two billion, said that under the project, a solar system of 150 KV has been installed, which has been connected to K-Electric.
Mayor Karachi said that soon we will also transfer government hospitals to solar.
He announced that the roads of the city will be switched to street lights soon and said that three major highways of Karachi will be switched to solar system soon.
Mayor Karachi further said that there will be more development works in the city in the coming days.
Expressing his determination to continue the journey of development under the leadership of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto, he said that every worker of the PPP is engaged in the service of this city and will take all possible steps to highlight the good side of Karachi all over the world.
