Adnan Siddiqui Disapproves Reshma’s Classic Song ‘Akhiyaan De Kol’ Remix by T-Series

Adnan Siddiqui
  • Adnan Siddiqui called out Bollywood for “Akhiyaan De Kol” remix.
  • He emphasized that Resham’s music should be respected.
  • Social media users also voiced their disappointment.

T-Series has released a remix of the legendary singer Reshma’s iconic song “Akhiyaan De Kol” for the upcoming film Do Patti. This move has drawn criticism from several quarters, including Pakistani celebrity Adnan Siddiqui, who expressed his discontent on social media.

On Monday, Siddiqui took to X, stating, “Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind.” He emphasized that her music should be treated with the respect it deserves, saying it should not be “reduced to just another sordid rip-off.”

Social media users also voiced their disappointment in the YouTube comment section of the song. One user commented, “Stop stealing Pakistani songs,” while another said, “Seriously!! They’ve ruined one of the best songs.” A third user added, “Reshma ji would have never imagined her song being portrayed this way.”

Originally sung by Reshma and written by Sehrai Gurdas Puri, “Akhiyaan De Kol” has been reimagined by Indian singer Shilpa Rao, with music composed by Tanishk Bagchi and lyrics by Kausar Munir.

Danish Taimoor Calls Out Senior Actors Criticizing Young Artists

Danish Taimoor
  • Danish Taimoor spoke out against seniors criticizing young artists.
  • He said that he refrained from sharing such opinions.
  • He argued that it’s disrespectful to publicly point out someone.

Renowned actor Danish Taimoor recently spoke out against the practice of senior actors offering harsh judgments on the work of younger artists. Known for his role in the popular drama series Jaan Nisar, Taimoor avoids interviews where he might be asked to critique his peers, as he believes such judgments are inappropriate.

He specifically criticized a TV show where senior actresses frequently give negative feedback on young actors’ performances. While he didn’t name the show directly, he mentioned that actresses like Marina Khan, Rubina Ashraf, Atiqua Odho, and Nadia Khan participate in it.

Taimoor stated, “I refrain from sharing such opinions out of fear of displeasing Allah.” He argued that it’s disrespectful to publicly point out someone’s shortcomings, suggesting, “If you want to provide feedback on someone’s work, you can do so privately in a phone call.”

Addressing his critics, he added, “Your comments have zero percent impact on our success.” He also criticized inexperienced actors who offer unsolicited advice, saying such actions are often aimed at gaining views.

In the interview, Taimoor reflected on his early struggles in acting and shared that he has learned to remain unaffected by criticism, viewing it as a positive trait.

Use of technology can benefit farmers, enhance food security: Experts

food security

KARARCHI: Pakistan’s crop yields can be elevated to global averages through product innovation and the integration of technology into farming practices.

These insights were shared during a webinar titled “Transforming Agriculture for a Food-Secure Pakistan” held to commemorate Global Fertilizer Day.

The webinar was moderated by Zarrar Khuhro, a renowned talk show anchor, and featured Dr Zaheer Ahmed Zahir, Director of Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Atif Mohammad Ali, and Jawwad Hasan as subject matter experts.

Atif Mohammad Ali highlighted the importance of educating farmers on modern techniques and promoting the balanced use of fertilizers to tackle the challenge of low yields. Engro Fertilizers, as pioneers in driving innovation for the sector, has introduced specialty fertilizers which meet the nutrient needs of local soils beyond just nitrogen.

He also mentioned that Engro recently launched UgAi, Pakistan’s first integrated agri e-commerce platform, which allows farmers to directly purchase fertilizers from the company.

The platform also offers advanced drone technology and satellite imagery, enabling farmers to make data-driven crop decisions.

Zarrar Khuhro noted that while the agricultural sector contributes 24% to Pakistan’s GDP and employs 40% of the workforce, it still has significant untapped potential.

The sector faces multiple challenges, including climate change, soil health issues, limited access to capital, and reliance on traditional farming methods.

Dr Zahir emphasized that food security goes beyond affordability and accessibility to also include the quality and nutrition aspects.

This can only be achieved with the use of high-quality inputs. He urged policymakers and stakeholders to prioritize access to quality inputs.

Jawwad Hasan outlined that the challenges facing Pakistan’s agriculture sector present an opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate and leverage technology for actionable insights.

Pakistan oppose treaty banning production of fissile material for nukes

Pakistan

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has reaffirmed its opposition to the proposed treaty banning the production of fissile material used as fuel for nuclear weapons, asserting that States that do not need to produce enriched uranium after having already amassed several tons of it in excess are pushing for this discriminatory pact.

“A treaty which only results in a cut-off in the future production of fissile material would be a non-starter given that it would perpetuate asymmetries and will have no added value for nuclear disarmament,” Ambassador Usman Iqbal Jadoon, deputy permanent representative to the UN, told the General Assembly’s First Committee, which deals with disarmament and international security matters.

“The States, which do not need to produce fissile material after having already amassed several tonnes of fissile material in excess, are pushing for cost-free proposals such as quantitative capping of fissile material as ‘the next logical step’,” he said.

In these diversionary tactics, he pointed out they are joined with fervour by the States who rely on others for extended deterrence and nuclear-weapon-sharing arrangements.

” If the proponents of the FMCT (fissile material cut-off treaty) are serious in addressing the issue of fissile material production, they should start by rejecting double standards and ceasing nuclear cooperation with a country in South Asia — obviously India — that continues to amass stockpiles outside safeguards and is now on the path of a major breakout in terms of fissile production,” the Pakistani envoy said.

“Short of that, their calls for a moratorium or a cut-off treaty ring hollow,” he added.

In this regard, Ambassador Jadoon reiterated that FMCT’s approach was “flawed” and that its time had long passed.

“The relentless weaponization of new and emerging capabilities and its integration and co-existence with the nuclear domain is further convoluting the security landscape,” he said, adding that it would negatively impact the security of the States and exacerbate asymmetries.

Ambassador Jadoon pointed out that India was the first to introduce nuclear weapons in the region and nuclearized the Indian Ocean.
