ISLAMABAD: Barrister Ali Zafar has said that the Election Commission’s decision against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan is unconstitutional and illegal.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Barrister Ali Zafar has said that the Election Commission has made a very strange case that a person legally bought Toshakhana gifts, declared them, and returned them. Sold legitimately and declared the price at which it was sold.
He said that all the documents were ignored by the Election Commission and Imran Khan was disqualified. He said hopefully the court will reject the decision of the Election Commission.
He said that Toshakhana reference Speaker sent to ECP but did not give proof and Election Commission disqualified him on the returns of 2018-2019 whereas Election Commission cannot give the declaration of 62 (1)(F).
Barrister Ali Zafar said that the decision of the Election Commission is unconstitutional and illegal. He said no court has disqualified Imran Khan and added that the Election Commission should have dropped the reference against Imran Khan.
He said that there was only an allegation against Imran Khan and the speaker should have ended the reference at the same time.
