PML-N, PPP is running away from elections: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that PTI is not competing with PML-N or PPP in Islamabad local bodies elections but with independent candidates.

In his Twitter message, Fawad Chaudhry said that PML-N and PPP are running away from elections because their politics is over.

He said that in the local bodies’ elections of Islamabad, where 101 Union Councils Panels will be elected. He said PML-N could only give candidates in 30 constituencies and the People’s Party does not have a single panel, the competition is between PTI and independent candidates.

On the other hand, Fawad Chaudhry said on his Twitter regarding the case of Senator Azam Swati that the transfer of Azam Swati to Quetta is another stain on the human rights record of the courts of Pakistan. He said a 75-year-old senator and lawyer is being disrespected.

The former federal minister further said that the courts are in the lead in further tarnishing the history of Pakistan, who knows when the judges will realize how important responsibilities Allah has bestowed on them?

Two days ago, the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) issued a detailed report regarding the success of the no-confidence motion and the by-elections held in the country since the establishment of the current government.

According to ECP, the popularity of the 12-party government alliance has declined and the popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is on the rise.

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan has arrested 20 suspects involved in financial fraud.

FIA Cybercrime conducted a major operation in Lahore, Spokesperson FIA said that the accused used to call people to get information about their accounts and then withdraw money from the citizens’ accounts.

The spokesperson added that the accused have cheated 20 people so far. FIA has registered a case against the accused.

Two days ago, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime arrested three suspects involved in banking fraud.

The spokesman said that the accused used to call citizens and pretend to be bank representatives and transfer money by taking details of bank accounts.

According to the spokesman, the accused defrauded the citizens of Rs 730,384.

Keep in mind that digital or online banking is a relatively new trend in Pakistan and it is increasing day by day according to the data of the State Bank of Pakistan, digital banking is booming in Pakistan.

According to the State Bank, digital banking transactions have increased by four percent in the first quarter of the current year as compared to the same quarter last year.

ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad remanded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Senator Azam Swati, in judicial custody for 14 days in the case related to controversial tweets.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had filed an application seeking judicial remand in the court of Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Shabbir Bhatti before the four-day physical remand was over.

During the hearing, the judicial magistrate accepted the FIA’s request, directing Swati to appear on December 15.

“We have completed the investigation, no further investigation is required,” the FIA ​​told the court, requesting the court to send Azam Swati on judicial remand before the physical remand ends.

Senator Azam Swati was taken into custody earlier this week for the second time after a raid at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad by the FIA’s Cybercrime Wing Islamabad in the case related to a controversial tweet.

He was later produced before a judicial magistrate, who handed him over to the FIA on a two-day physical remand. Two days later, his physical remand was extended by an additional four days.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf women’s wing protested against Azam Swati’s arrest outside the Supreme Court registry yesterday.

The women’s wing of PTI also demanded the immediate release of Azam Swati and took immediate notice from the Supreme Court.
