Lady Susan Hussey supposedly quit over a racism scandal. Hussey, a member of King Charles III’s royal service, resigned after making racist remarks to Ngozi Fulani, a Black visitor from Sistah Space.
Lady Susan Hussey, one of Prince William’s godmothers, quit hours after Fulani’s tweet. Fulani said “Lady SH” asked her where she “truly” came from. Fulani tweeted that after saying she was from East London, she was questioned, “What’s your nationality?” Who are you? What area of Africa are YOU from?
Royal statement
Buckingham Palace published a statement Wednesday saying, “We take this event very seriously and have investigated quickly to determine the full information.”
“Unacceptable and unpleasant statements were said. We’ve contacted Ngozi Fulani and invited her to share her experience in person.
Prince William’s team addresses racism scandal
Prince William’s staff also responded to his godmother’s racism controversy. “I was incredibly saddened to hear of the guest’s experience last night,” stated the prince’s spokeswoman. Racism is unacceptable in our culture. The statements were abhorrent, and the person should resign immediately.
