- CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has been reinstated by SC
- Ghulam Mehmood Dogar was suspended by the federal government a few days back
- The court also issued a notice to the federal government
ISLAMABAD: The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has been reinstated by the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan.
Ghulam Mehmood Dogar was suspended by the federal government a few days back when the Governor House came under attack. Dogar challenged the suspension in the apex court.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard the plea and ordered restoration while issuing a notice to the federal government.
CCPO’s lawyer Abid Zuberi told the court that a two-member bench of the tribunal cannot suspend another bench’s decision. He maintained that the government’s review petition was also pending before the tribunal.
However, after the arguments, the court ordered the restoration of the CCPO and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
