JAMSHORO: The Indus River has been in high flood at Kotri Barrage, while the water level in Sukkur and Guddu barrages is fast declining.
The river’s level has decreased to extremely low flood at Guddu, Sukkur, and other barrages upstream of the Indus.
The Indus River has been under high flood at Kotri Barrage, with water intake reaching 6,26,000 cusecs and discharge reaching 6,00,000 cusecs downstream.
Four canals carry 20,000 cusecs of water from the Kotri Barrage. According to irrigation sources, the river water is putting pressure on the Kotri Barrage and the protective dykes from Dadu to Thatta and Sujawal.
Several Jamshoro and Kotri union councils and urban areas have been inundated by the river. Floodwater has penetrated homes, causing difficulty for families.
The river at Guddu Barrage has declined more in the last 24 hours, with an inflow of 1,65,200 cusecs and an outflow of 1,58,500 cusecs.
The water level at Sukkur Barrage has declined, and the river’s intake and outflow have been 1,85,000 cusecs.
The Indus River inflow at Tarbela was 1,57,000 cusecs, while the discharge was 1,55,300 cusecs.
The river inflow at Kalabagh was 1,53,200 cusecs, while the discharge was 1,45,200 cusecs. The water input in the Indus at Chashma was 2,13,500 cusecs, while the discharge was 1,95,500 cusecs.
According to the water record, the inflow into the river at Taunsa Barrage was 1,81,200 cusecs, while the outflow was 1,64,200 cusecs.
