Prince William gave Deborah kids “advice” on losing a parent

Prince William
  • The Duke of Cambridge visited her family for tea in May.
  • He gave her two children “powerful advice” about coping with the loss of a parent.
  • The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Prince James’ mother, Carole, at her home.

Prince William gave her two children “powerful advice” about losing a parent before Deborah James died this summer.

James’ husband, Sebastien Bowen, recently told The Times in the United Kingdom that the Duke of Cambridge “felt like a friend” when he visited the family for tea in May.

“There was the time I opened the door to Prince William, who had come to give Deborah a damehood,” Bowen recalled. “He felt like a friend but he was the future king. That was bizarre. He was so relaxed; he came and sat down in the garden and had champagne with the family.”

Prince William, who lost his mother Princess Diana when he was 15, also shared some insight with James’ two children, Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12.

“He’s obviously been through similar grief with the loss of his mother, so he gave powerful advice to the children that will stay with them forever,” Bowen stated.

Prince William, 40, kept things lighthearted as well, joking that James, 40, was “triple parked” with three different drinks.

“Deborah had a glass of champagne, a glass of wine and a glass of sherry in front of her,” Bowen said. “She hadn’t been allowed a drink for months and the first thing William said was, ‘I’m glad to see you are triple parked.’ That was an immediate ice-breaker.”

James posted photos of Prince William’s visit to her Instagram account, including one of her damehood.

“It’s quite surreal having a royal pop in at home, and yes you can imagine the cleaning antics and preparation went off the scale — but it was all irrelevant because William was so kind and he put us all at ease,” she wrote.

Prince William also paid a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London to meet with nurses and staff who assisted with James’ care. In 2007, William was elected president of the hospital, following in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, who also supported the facility and paid frequent visits.

“I loved meeting her, she was fantastic — her legacy is massive,” William told Lorraine Kimber, a patient who is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.

“She was incredible, incredible. She was surrounded by her family, we had a lovely afternoon,” he stated.

Prince William and Kate Middleton released a rare personal statement.

“We are so sad to hear the heartbreaking news about Dame Deborah,” William and Kate posted on Twitter.”

“Signing off with their initials, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge added, “Our thoughts are with her children, her family and her loved ones. Deborah was an inspirational and unfalteringly brave woman whose legacy will live on. W & C.”

Many parts Queen’s holiday change scuttles Harry and Meghan

  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the UK and Germany next month.
  • Arrival in the UK coincides with the Queen’s annual summer visit to Balmoral.
  • Prince William and Kate will be touring the U.S., so no plans for a meeting with Harry and Meghan.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced plans to visit next month to attend a number of charity events before travelling to Germany to commemorate one year until the Invictus Games 2023. Their arrival in the UK coincides with the Queen’s annual summer visit to Balmoral.

The royal couple is said to be hoping to meet with the Queen, but some sources say this may be difficult because Her Majesty may be busy with other engagements.

Prince William will be touring the U.S. next month, so there are no plans for Meghan and Harry to meet them.

The Queen may be too busy with state business while in London or Windsor for two or three days to meet with the couple.

Today, a source told, “There are a lot of moving parts to deal with in those days.”

The Duke and Duchess were last in the UK in June to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

During the four-day festivities, the monarch met her great-granddaughter, Lilibet, for the first time.

The Queen is expected to return from her annual summer vacation to meet her outgoing Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and his replacement on September 5.

Harry, 37, and Meghan, 41, may accompany the Queen to the Highlands or visit her in London or Windsor.

However, royal sources believe that the Sussexes will want to meet the 96-year-old monarch if only to boost the commercial value of their brand.

Harry’s memoir, due out before the end of the year, has hampered reconciliation hopes with William. The book is expected to reopen wounds from the Sussexes’ racism claims and Meghan’s bullying allegations.

Royals and their advisers are on edge about the book’s contents. The Sussexes and Penguin Random House won’t discuss the book’s contents or release date.

Harry and Meghan’s office confirmed their September trip to the UK and Germany in a statement this morning.
