Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman sets the highest individual score at the Wanderers as he made the nation proud with his remarkable innings as he hit 193 off 155 balls with 10 sixes and 18 fours during the match between Pakistan and South Africa.

Fakhar Zaman is also adjudged Player of the Match after South Africa beats Pakistan by 17 runs during the second one-day international (ODI) here on Sunday.

Fantastic Fakhar is the record-holder of Pakistan’s highest ODI individual score (210)* and is also the record-holder of the highest individual score in an ODI chase (193).

Speaking to media officials after the match, the batsman said, “It feels great but it would have been better if we had won.”

On the other hand, Zaman’s performance against South Africa has Twitter abuzz with praises for the cricketer.

He has won the hearts of every Pakistani out there! Celebrities, veteran cricketers and other prominent personalities alike have taken to Twitter to share their appreciation.

South Africa defeats Pakistan in the second one-day international (ODI) by 17 runs and levelled the game at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.

But, Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has made the nation proud with his remarkable innings as he hit 193 off 155 balls with 10 sixes and 18 fours during the match between Pakistan and South Africa.

Fakhar Zaman was also declared player of the match.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, captain Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller hit half-centuries.

South Africa’s 342 run-target to Pakistan

Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field first against the Proteas.

Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram started the innings for South Africa and both players gave their team a 55-run lead.

Aiden Markram made 39 runs and got out by Faheem Ashraf, then De Kock and Temba Bavuma advanced their team’s score. Moreover, Rassie van der Dussen was dismissed for 60 runs.

Temba Bavuma with his tremendous batting was able to make 92 runs for his team.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took three wickets while Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain, and Fahim Ashraf took one wicket each.

PM Imran strongly rebukes the murder of ATC judge & family

Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly rebuked the attack on anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge Aftab Afridi, who was killed along with his wife and two children after unknown men opened fire on his vehicle in Swabi.

The premier took to his Twitter and wrote, “Strongly condemn the murder of ATC judge Aftab Afridi, his wife & 2 children at Anbar Interchange, Swabi.”

“The perpetrators of this gruesome act will be apprehended & dealt with the full severity of the law,” PM Imran added.

Note that ATC judge Aftab Afridi’s vehicle was attacked by target killers near Ambar interchange in Swabi.

“Two security guards in the judge’s convoy also sustained wounds in the attack,” police said.

However, the dead bodies and other wounded were taken to a nearby hospital for medical aid and legal formalities.

The security forces and police cordoned off the area and started began investigating from the scene for criminological inquiry.

Moreover, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan rebuked the killing and expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident.

“Targeting women and children is a coward attempt,” he said.

Furthermore, the chief minister has instructed the police to promptly arrest the culprits behind the attack.

Pakistan To Ban inter-provincial transport on weekends from April 10-25

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has on Sunday issued new guidelines to curb the spread of the sharp spike in COVID-19 cases amidst the third wave of the deadly virus.

The NCOC has announced to suspend inter-provincial transport for two days a week (Saturday and Sunday).

It has limited inter-provincial public transport only on weekends. However, cargo trucks, containers, medical and emergency services will be spared from the limitations.

The new decision will come into effect from April 10th until April 25th. Pakistan Railways will continue to run passenger trains seven days a week with 70% occupancy, added NCOC.

Moreover, the NCOC has directed the administrations of the Masajid and the Imambargahs to hold Taraweeh prayer in the yards during the month of Ramadan.

It further said that if during Ramadan, the government feels that these precautionary measures are not being observed or the number of affectees has risen to a dangerous level then the government will revise its policy.

Pakistan Army security forces have on Sunday conducted an area sanitization operation in Dewagar, North Waziristan, on confirmation of the presence of terrorists.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during an intense exchange of fire, one terrorist, Zahid-u-Din resident of Dewagar, was killed.

The terrorist was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Dewagar and Kharseen areas, added ISPR.

ISPR further said that he remained actively involved in target killings, terrorists’ activities, extortion and planting IEDs against the security forces.

Earlier, security forces had conducted intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Kanju, Swat on confirmation of the presence of terrorists.

According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), During the exchange of fire terrorist named Mukarram killed while another terrorist apprehended.

Due to terrorists firing 2 local civilian pedestrians were also martyred.

Both the terrorists of TTP Swat remained involved in terrorists’ activities against Security Forces & LEAs, demolition of schools, extortion and targeted killing.

Pakistan Removes UK From The List Of Travel Restricted Countries

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has on Sunday removed the United Kingdom (UK) from the list of travel restricted countries amidst the sharp rise of new COVID strain across the globe.

According to the notification issued by PCAA, Pakistan removes the UK from the list of travel restricted countries and has been removed from category C of the banned countries and included in category B.

The PCAA has also issued new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for international and chartered flights. The new SOPs will be effective from April 6th until April 20th.

The fresh COVID-19 test is mandatory for passengers coming from UK 72 hours before their arrival in Pakistan, the notification said.

The notification further added that 22 countries including South Africa, Colombia, Zimbabwe and Ghana have been included in category C.

UK Added Pakistan To ‘Red List‘ of Travel Ban Countries

Earlier, the British government had imposed a travel ban on Pakistan due to the growing number of coronavirus cases in the country.

After which, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority put on hold the request of British Airways for more flights. British Airways had sought permission for 10 more flights to Pakistan.

Civil aviation took more precautionary measures on SOPs and did not allow any more flights of the British airline.

Sources said that the request of British Airways for more flights was put on hold, British Airways had sought permission for 10 more flights to Pakistan, 7 flights from the UK to Islamabad and 3 flights from the UK to Lahore.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan International Airlines has increased the number of flights to the UK before April 9 on government directives.

The return of passengers to Pakistan on Easter and Good Friday has become difficult after the UK added Pakistan to the red list.

On the other hand, a statement issued by the PIA spokesperson said that in this situation, fares were being collected from foreign airlines up to Rs 4 lakh.

The spokesman said that on the instructions of the government, PIA increased the number of its flights before April 9.

“With the additional flights, five PIA flights will now depart for the UK from April 4 to 9.”

According to CEO PIA Arshad Malik, the purpose of the additional flights is to ease the problems of migrants and control fares.

“Special instructions have been issued to make it easier for passengers to get tickets.”

An Indian artist has paid homage to late Pakistani folk singer Shaukat Ali, who passed away in Lahore on Friday (April 2, 2021), by making his statue.

A renowned Indian artist from Moga District in India’s Punjab Manjeet Singh said the statue of Shaukat Ali will be erected on the highway.

Before Shaukat Ali, Manjeet has also made statues of well-known social figure Abdul Sattar Edhi and poet Baba Najmi.

Shaukat Ali, who is known for his war-time patriotic songs such as Saathion Mujahidon Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan, Mera Puttar Pakistan Da, and Apna Quaid Aik Hai among many others, had been unwell for the past several years.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army has appointed Major General Saqib Mehmood Malik as the Chief of Logistics Staff.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Fahd Bin Abdullah Al-Mutair, Commander Royal Saudi Land Forces had called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

According to ISPR, during the meeting, regional security situation and issues of mutual interest including cooperation in the fields of defence, security and military training between both the armies had been discussed.

The visiting dignitary had acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s sincere efforts in bringing peace to the region especially the Afghan Peace Process.

COAS had extended thankfulness to the dignitary and said that Pakistan Army greatly values its close brotherly ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Back in 2020, Thirty-Seven Brigadiers in Pakistan Army had raised to the rank of Major General at army promotions board session held with Chief of Army Staff COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair.
