Footballer Mohamed Salah Donates Oxygen Tanks to Basyoun Hospital

Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah has donated an oxygen tank to the Basyoun Central Hospital after shortages were reported in government hospitals, allegedly leading to some deaths.

According to the details, the Nagrig Charity Association in Basyoun city, Gharbiya announced that Mohamed Salah donates oxygen tanks.

However, Salah is known to frequently support in addressing social problems back in Egypt by making donations where possible.

Earlier, the footballer contributed to building an Azhar religious institute at his own expense, helped construct an ambulance unit for the ambulance authority in Gharbiya, and donated LE50 million to the National Cancer Institute after it was struck by a car bomb in 2019.

The Liverpool striker also established the Nagrig Charity Association in 2017, which helps take care of orphans, widows, the elderly and the sick and provides monthly cash assistance.

The association has helped roughly 400-500 people regularly.

Back in December 2018, Salah donated LE900,000 to the Bassioun General Hospital, and alongside his father, he also donated five acres of land to establish a sewage treatment plant in his home village, giving residents there a stable source of fresh, clean water.

Earlier, the first episode of the second season of the drama series Kuruluş Osman broke all records after it was premiered on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Turkish star Burak Özçivit, who portrays the lead role in the historic drama, turned to Instagram and shared the poster of the first episode and wrote in Turkish saying, “Kuruluş Osman returned to the top of the season-opening.”

The popular Turkish show details Kurulus: Osman is about the establishment of the Ottoman Empire.

The TV series has huge fans in Pakistan and many other countries since it is the sequel to another hit series “Dirislis: Ertugrul“.

“Ertugrul” is currently being aired in Pakistan with Urdu dubbing on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Former Pakistan woman cricketer Sana Mir has contracted the novel Coronavirus here on Monday.

According to the details, Sana Mir, the 34-year-old cricketer has isolated herself after being diagnosed with coronavirus. She has represented Pakistan in 226 internationals since her debut in 2005 and was a captain in 137 of them.

The off-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in ODIs and second-highest behind Nida Dar in T20Is.

PM, Defense Minister discuss India’s CFVs along LoC

Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Monday (today) held meeting with Defense Minister Pervez Khattak in Islamabad.

During the meeting, they both discussed the overall regional security, India’s ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) and its negative effects on the region.

Earlier in a day, Prime Minister Imran Khan compared the twelve year performance of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and said that the nation benefits when state institutions are allowed to function independently without political interference.

Taking to his Twitter, the premier said, “The following facts reveal how the nation benefits when state institutions are allowed to function independently without political interference. Total recoveries by NAB in 2019 & 2020 amount to Rs.389 bn in comparison to previous 10 yrs (2008-2018) recoveries of Rs.104 bn.”

He further added in another tweet, “These were 10 yrs of dark ages under corrupt rulers. Again, Anti Corruption in Punjab recovered Rs.206 bn in 27 months in comparison to only Rs.3 bn in the past 10 yrs under corrupt rulers. These are clear indications of accountability working when institutions are independent.”
