Fire engulfs chemical factory in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony, tenders busy dousing the blaze

A fire broke out at a chemical factory in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony here on Monday.

The blaze reported at a chemical factory, located at Shah Faisal Colony, which was setup in a house.

Four fire tenders are busy in dousing the fire.

According to rescue officials, the reason behind the blaze can only be determined after it is extinguished.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board MD Khalid Sheikh has declared an emergency at the Safoora Goth and Landhi water hydrants. The board has already sent 25,000 gallons of water to the site via tankers.

Moreover, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Earlier, a garment factory near Godam Chowrangi in Karachi’s Korangi area engulfed in fire early Sunday morning.

According to reports,  the fire started to rage from the packaging hall on the first floor of the building and later spread to the second floor.

Soon after the indictment occurred, rescue teams and fire brigades rushed to the spot.

FIA arrests the man who blackmailed TikToker Jannat Mirza and her sister

A man from Faisalabad who blackmailed TikTok star Jannat Mirza has been arrested.

The man, Asfandyar, posted pictures of Jannat Mirza and her sister on social media. He also posted inappropriate videos and claimed they were their’s.

Two other men were arrested along with him in Lahore by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The TikToker had registered a case against him at the Cyber Crime Division.

Asfandyar confessed that he wanted to marry Mirza’s sister but was rejected. As an act of revenge, he began to harass the sisters online.

He told to a private TV channel that he edited the videos and posted them online. “I want a last chance,” he said, promising that he wouldn’t do it again.

Asfandyar has handed over to the FIA on two-day physical remand.

Jannat Mirza says harassment has become common for female TikTok stars in Pakistan. However, with around 7.5 million followers, she claims to be Pakistan’s most popular TikTok star.

The FIA’s Faisalabad Cyber Crime Division says it currently has 3,000 complaints.

Turkish Airlines welcomes plan for PIA’s Istanbul flight operations

Turkish Airlines has welcomed a plan by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to start flight operations to Turkey from next month.

PIA CEO Arshad Malik has said that the airline planned to start operations to Turkey from the first week of August.

However, Turkey’s aeronautical authorities have granted permission for the flights.

According to the plan, PIA passengers will be able to travel to Europe from Turkey via Turkish Airlines.

In his letter, the Turkish Airlines’ CEO proposed to upgrade the codeshare from unilateral to a bilateral arrangement with Pakistan.

Moreover, flights of both companies to Birmingham, London, Milan, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Oslo can also be made with codeshare.

However, through this plan, Pakistani passengers landing at the airport in Istanbul will be able to book flights on European routes.
