7th Monkeypox case detected in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Another person has been tested positive for Monkeypox in Islamabad on Monday, a total 7 case was reported in the country so far. The 44 years old person came from KSA, belongs to Gujarat district of Punjab and it is the 7th Mpox case this year and 6th after World Health Organization (WHO) emergency declared last month. The patient is currently at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad and stable. The Mpox causes signs and symptoms which usually begin within a week but can start 1–21 days after exposure. Symptoms typically last 2–4 weeks but may last longer in someone with a weakened immune system. The common symptoms of mpox are: rash, fever,sore throat, headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy and swollen lymph nodes. It should be noted that last month the World Health Organization declared monkeypox as a public health emergency.
