ISLAMABAD: The government is likely to increase petroleum prices from February 1, with petrol expected to go up by Rs3 per litre and diesel by Rs6 per litre.

According to sources, the increase is driven by fluctuations in global crude oil prices. Currently, petrol is priced at Rs256.13 per litre, but if the proposed hike is implemented, it will rise to Rs259.13 per litre. Similarly, diesel, which is presently at Rs260.95 per litre, is expected to climb to Rs266.95 per litre.

The final decision on the price revision will be made before the new fortnight begins. Additionally, other fuels may also witness price adjustments, though there is no official update on kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) rates.

These anticipated fuel price changes will impact consumers nationwide as the government continues to navigate the effects of fluctuating international oil prices.
