Pakistani ‘Blockbuster’ Song Chosen by Wimbledon for Alcaraz

Blockbuster
  • FIFA recently honored French football star Kylian Mbappe.
  • FIFA featured his impressive on-field skills in a TikTok video.
  • The video was set to the Pakistani song “Blockbuster.”

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) recently honored French football star Kylian Mbappe by featuring his impressive on-field skills in a TikTok video set to the popular Pakistani song “Blockbuster.”

Just four days later, Wimbledon used the same energetic Pakistani track to celebrate the rise of new tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz.

Expressing his delight, Coke Studio Pakistan Producer Zulfiqar Khan, also known as Xulfi, shared on Instagram, “A few years back, I saw a reel of @carlitosalcarazz winning an incredible rally. He was ranked around 100 then. Immediately followed him as I felt he’s an incredible performer and game thinker. Today, when he’s top of the tennis world, it makes me happy 🙂 What makes me happier is that our @coke_studio’s Blockbuster has been featured on the @wimbledon official Instagram on a reel on Carlos himself. Sort of a small full circle for me personally as well! And as a community, artists, musicians, nations, it gives me hope to see these new timelines popping up building bridges between arts and sports.”

He added, “Thank you universe. Thank you Wimbledon! I’ve grown up watching you every year in the season of jamuns (Java plums).”

The dual use of “Blockbuster” by both FIFA and Wimbledon highlights the song’s universal appeal and its potential to unite different worlds through music, sports, and cultural appreciation.

You used to be so pretty.”

Ainy responded gracefully, educating the user about the natural process of ageing and accepting wrinkles as part of growing older. She clarified not having undergone any cosmetic procedures except for microblading her eyebrows and asserted her right to make decisions about her face, including the possibility of cosmetic treatments in the future.

“It’s called ageing,” retorted the star. “I’m older, I have wrinkles and lines, and I’m okay with that. I’ve never done anything except for microblading [my] eyebrows. But since you’re all so curious, everyone gets older, and their faces change. What ridiculous questions.”

Later, the Instagram user expressed regret, explaining their surprise at the picture and acknowledging that their intention was not to troll or criticize Ainy’s appearance. They offered a sincere apology for any hurt caused.

The incident shed light on the prevalence of online trolling and age-shaming in today’s digital age, emphasizing the importance of empathy and respect in online interactions. Ainy’s dignified response highlighted the need for compassion and understanding in such situations.
