ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour quits politics

PESHAWAR:  Veteran politician and Awami National Party (ANP) senior leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming elections.

Talking to media, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said that “I fought the election of 2024 at the age of 85, now health does not allow any more electoral politics”.

He said that “We are the trustees of the martyrs, we have not separated from politics, we will continue to do politics till death”.

The ANP leader said that the people of Peshawar have given a lot of love, but now he is thinking about shifting from Peshawar to Islamabad.

Ghulam Ahmad Bilour contested 12 times from his native constituency NA 1 (now NA 32) in Peshawar from 1988 to 2024 election and became a member of the National Assembly 5 times while he has also been the Federal Minister of Railways in the past.
