Free Solar Panel Scheme; Steps to check your application status

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme was launched for 100,000 consumers in the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially inaugurated the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme for which consumers of Punjab can apply at home through SMS or online portal from today.

Provincial Secretary Energy while giving a briefing about the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme said that under the scheme 100,000 solar systems will be installed throughout the year and 52,019 customers who spend 100 units per month will be given a free solar system of 550 watts.

In the briefing, it was informed that 1100 watt solar system will be given free of charge to consumers who consume up to 200 units of electricity per month and computerized balloting will be conducted for transparency in CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that the purpose of the free solar panel scheme is to provide permanent relief to the people from expensive electricity.

Maryam Nawaz noted during the launch ceremony that over 7.3 million consumers in Punjab had already benefited from subsidies amounting to Rs14 per unit.
