CM announces 1m for heirs of robbery resistance victims

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced a compensation of Rs 1 million each to the families of those who died in robbery resistance in the province since January 2024.

Murad Ali Shah while speaking in the House said that 84 people lost their lives during robbery in Sindh since January till now. Murad Ali Shah said he and the ministers should have gone to the relatives.  He admitted Sindh government fault in this regard.

The Chief Minister of Sindh announced that he will give one million each to the families of those who have died since January.

Murad Ali Shah further said that it is not the job of the caretaker government to stop the work of the elected government. The federal government has allocated Rs 76 billion while 25 to 30 billion rupees have been allotted for K-4 programme, and estimated cost of project is Rs 40 billion. The Sindh government has allocated Rs 3 billion for project.

Law student killed in robbery resistance in Karachi

KARACHI: A student of a law college was killed in a car by alleged robbers in the presence of her father in  Korangi area of Karachi.

Sources said the incident took place near Korangi No. 5, where the assailants, riding a motorcycle, attempted to snatch cash and valuables from the youth and his father.

The robber fired at the father-son duo over resistance. As a result of the firing, the law student was killed while his father was critically injured. The deceased law student was identified as Azhar and the injured father was Maqsood Akhtar.

A passerby Osama was also injured in the firing.

The area people gathered at the site and captured the fleeing robbers, killing one on the spot while the second one managed to flee.

Earlier, a student of NED University was gunned down by street criminals when he resisted to mobile snatching attempt at University Road on Thursday.

Bol News reported that university student Bilal Nasir, aged 21, was sitting at a hotel situated opposite the university main gate when two armed men on motorcycle came and tried to snatch his mobile phone.
