Charles says that Philip’s last words were a joke about his age.

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, and he was called the Duke of Edinburgh. He was married to the British monarch, Elizabeth, from February 6, 1952, until his death in 2021, making him the longest-serving royal spouse in history.

Charles, Prince Philip’s oldest son, told BBC that his father made one last joke before he died.

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9 last year at the age of 99. He was known for his quick wit and love of jokes, and he made one last joke at his son Prince Charles just before he died.

Charles told the BBC about his late father’s last joke when he was interviewed by the BBC for a documentary about Philip’s life. The documentary will show and celebrate Philip’s life.

The last time Prince Charles spoke with Philip, he talked on the phone about Philip’s 100th birthday, which he couldn’t go to because he had to work.

Charles said that he knew his father wasn’t very excited about his 100th birthday, but that the family had been talking about birthday plans anyway.

Charles repeated, “We’re talking about your birthday! And whether there’s going to be a reception!”

Despite the fact that Philip was ultimately correct, Charles said the memory is a wonderful one for him.
