PHC orders to issue POC to Afghan husbands of Pakistani women

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court(PHC) ordered to issue Pakistan Origin Card (POC) to Afghan husbands of Pakistani women.

Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Shakeel Ahmed heard the petitions of Pakistani women who married Afghan nationals in the Peshawar High Court.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel told the court that the petitioner women are married to Afghan nationals and the petitioner women also have children but their husbands were not issued POC cards.

The petitioner’s counsel said that the women and their children were facing difficulties due to non-issuance of POC cards to their husbands.

On which the court ordered the Afghan husbands of the applicant women to issue POC cards according to the law and said that facilities should be created for the applicant women. The applicant should not be harassed.

It should be noted that even earlier, the Peshawar High Court approved the applications of 109 Afghans and ordered them to be issued Pakistan Origin Cards.
