KARACHI: Senior Anchorperson Jameel Farooqui was produced before the City Court and the magistrate of the court handed over Jameel Farooqui to the Islamabad police on a three-day judicial remand, BOL News reported on Monday.

According to the details, Jameel Farooqui was arrested after leaving the BOL News office on Sunday night. The court ordered Jameel Farooqui to appear in court within three days, claiming that there were no signs of assault on the accused’s body. The judge also directed Islamabad Police Investigation officer Mian Shahbaz to notify the senior anchorperson’s family of his arrest.

The investigation officer said a case has been registered against the accused in the Ramna police station.

Jameel Farooqui claimed in front of the court that he was not allowed to communicate with his family members or to inform them about his presence.

According to the details, YouTuber and senior anchor person Jameel Farooqui was arrested late at night in Karachi. A case against Farooqui for leveling false allegations against Islamabad Capital Police was registered at 701/22 police station.

It is pertinent to mention here that Jameel Farooqui came under allegations that he had accused the Islamabad Capital Police in his Vlog of maintaining that Shahbaz Shabbir had been physically and sexually assaulted by the police.

“PDM Can Go To Any Extent For Its Own Political Benefits”: Shehryar Afridi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Shehryar Afridi said that any political party based on benefits and personal interests is unreliable and so is Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Speaking to host Jameel Farooqui in BOL News’ program National Debate, Shehryar Afridi said that PDM leaders can go to any extent for their own benefits.

Lambasting at PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, he said that no one has the right to interfere in the legal procedure by the anti-corruption watchdog.

“Being forceful to NAB by any means and harassing the institution is totally intolerable,” added Afridi.

Questioning further about Rana Sanaullah being involved in the drugs scam, he asked, “Why is Rana Sanaullah escaping the trial if he is innocent?”

“Drugs were recovered from Rana Sanaullah’s car and we have the evidence,” said Shehryar Khan Afridi.

Commenting more about his mistake during vote casting at the Senate Elections 2021, Afridi added that he had not been instructed by the staff at the polling booth.

“I asked the staff members twice whether I have to sign the ballot paper or put any mark,” he said.

When asked what he has to say about his replacement, Shehryar Khan Afridi said, “PM Imran Khan has the power to reshuffle the cabinet.”

“I do not care if I lose the position,” he added.

Earlier, Shehryar Afridi had earned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ire as he requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to let him cast his vote afresh.

“It is submitted that I have been feeling unwell for the past few days and couldn’t attend the meetings of the party for preparations of elections,” Afridi had said in a letter to the ECP.

Commenting over the entire situation, the premier said, “You are an MNA. How can you make a mistake like this?” he told Afridi.

“Everyone was informed about the voting procedure [beforehand]. You shouldn’t have made a mistake like this,” he added angrily.

Shahzad Akbar Expresses Concern Over PEMRA’s Illegal Actions Against BOL News

Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar has expressed his views over the illegal actions taken by chairman PEMRA Saleem Baig while speaking to host Jameel Farooqui in BOL News’ Program ‘National Debate‘.

Shahzad Akbar said that,

“PEMRA is working under law, however, if an order is not complied with, contempt of court case is made.”

Shahzad Akbar also said that he will tell Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the illegal actions by PEMRA for not airing BOL News in different areas of the country and placing the channel to the last number.

“I will convey the voice of BOL to the Prime Minister. The voice of BOL must have reached PM Imran Khan by now,” said Shahzad Akbar.

Moving ahead, Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability also talked about the increasing inflation in the country and told BOL News’ National Debate’s host Jameel Farooqui that Government is taking all the possible measures to control inflation.

“Agreements with IPPs will be further improved,” said Shahzad Akbar.

Talking about Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), Shahzad Akbar said,

“Nawaz Sharif is on the run and is helpless.”

He further told that the government can now make legal amendments in the Cabinet, however, the government still does not have majority members for constitutional amendments.

On the other hand, Shahzad Akbar said that Nawaz Sharif should be treated in Pakistan despite getting treatment abroad.

‘PPP, PML-N Haven’t Done Anything For Pakistan’s Prosperity’: Shahzad Akbar

Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar has expressed his views over the ongoing conflicts between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Speaking to host Jameel Farooqui in BOL News’ Program ‘National Debate‘, Shahzad Akbar said that the people won’t bear anything against the honour of the country.

Lamenting at the Opposition, he said that Bilawal Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif did not ever work for the stability of the country, which means that they are not even sincere with each other.

The leader further added that the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman cannot be challenged.

He said that according to the Constitution, the Senate election is part of the proceedings of the House, according to Article 69, the proceedings of the House cannot be challenged.

Shahzad Akbar went on to add that the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate is a “Proceeding of the House” and the in-house proceedings of the Senate and National Assembly cannot be challenged in any court.

The PPP and PML-N have not done anything during their tenure regarding electoral reforms and for the prosperity of Pakistan, SAPM Akbar said.

He further commented on the political disputes and horse-trading during the Senate elections 2021.

Further commenting on the Opposition’s tactics, the minister said that the coalition between the Opposition parties would damage the country soon.
