Lt Gen Muhammad Ali appointed as Secretary Defence

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appointed Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali as Defence Secretary.

The notification for the appointment of Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali as Defence Secretary has also been issued by the Establishment Division.

According to the announcement, the new Defence Secretary has been appointed for a period of 2 years and 3 months. The appointment of the Defence Secretary will be effective from October 1, 2024.

A statement from the Establishment Division said that Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali will continue as Secretary till December 31, 2026.

Pakistan Army promotes four Majors General to Lt Gen rank

Pakistan Army announced on Wednesday to promote four Majors General to the rank of Lieutenant General, its media wing said in a press release. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the four officers include Maj Gen Muhammad Aamer, Maj Gen Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Maj Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, and Maj Gen Khalid Zia.
