ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif on Friday requested the Accountability court to give him relief on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Amendment Act 2022, BOL News reported.
According to the details, the Founder of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif submitted an application through lawyer Qazi Misbah, Advocate in the Accountability Court, where it was mentioned that the frozen assets should be restored and the accused should be released from the plot allotment reference.
Under the NAB Amendment Act 2022, the accountability bureau does not have the authority to take action in cases worth less than 50 crores.
As per the details, in the reference filed against Nawaz Sharif, an allegation of corruption of 13 million was made.
It was mentioned in the application filed by Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer that the accountability court has already ordered the acquittal of the three accused in this reference.
According to the details, the court had declared former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif an absconder and ordered the confiscation of his property.
The Accountability court should end the proceedings against Nawaz Sharif under the NAB Amendment Ordinance, Nawaz Sharif’s Lawyer requested in the application.
