People in the United States call her Gwen Renée Stefani, which means she is a singer and songwriter. She is one of the co-founders, the lead singer, and the main songwriter of the band No Doubt, which has had hits like “Just a Girl,” “Spiderwebs,” and “Always on Time.”
None of us have a lot in common with Gwen Stefani, so we don’t get along very well. She’s won three Grammy Awards, and I’m a journalist, so I know about music. A man named Blake is married to her. I’m married to Stephen. She is in her 50s, and I’m in my 30s. It keeps going. Both of us went to our first rodeo on March 15, and we were together in the name of make-up.
There were more than 65,000 people who came to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to see the pop star perform her best songs (the show had been postponed for two years due to COVID-19 restrictions). There, I was able to see her new high-performance make-up line in real life.
If you don’t know, Stefani recently started a makeup line called GXVE (pronounced “give”) that is based on the pop star’s favorite looks. Going into the concert, I had some doubts about how long the make-up would last. During the show, how long could she keep her signature Tippie on while she did her best? Because I was so curious, I also tried the lipstick out on my own. I was excited to see how my lips would do in a hot stadium with a lot of people.
Let’s go back a little. It doesn’t matter how she looks. Stefani is a force. It’s safe to say that she has a solid place in both the music and fashion worlds. She has four studio albums, three Grammy Awards, two fashion lines, and an eyewear line. So, as the pop star makes her own place in the beauty industry, which is full of celebrities, she’s ready for the fight, too.
