On March 1, 2023, The Sussexes received word of their eviction through their representatives; nevertheless, they were unaware that they were leaving their Windsor residence for Prince Andrew.
The Sussexes “weren’t told,” according to The Telegraph, that their cherished home was being given to them, and this revelation will only exacerbate what have already been “tough” conversations.
The duke reportedly spent $3 million on his own to refurbish the couple’s five-bedroom Georgian to their preferences. Despite the fact that they had “made that place their home,” a friend acknowledged that the choice had not been well received by the couple.
