Saudi Arabia To Reopen Travelling For Vaccinated Tourists From 1st August 2021

Saudi Arabia is opening its borders for international travellers after 17 months since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

The Saudi Arabia government has announced to lift the travel restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers coming from foreign countries from August 1, 2021. The government on Friday made a huge announcement. Apparently, the nation is opening its borders for travellers after 17 months since the pandemic started.

According to Saudi news, the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will allow fully vaccinated tourists in the nation. The announcement by the government was made on Friday. Apparently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is opening its borders for travellers after 17 months since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb said, “We welcome tourists again, and we are very happy to receive the Kingdom’s guests again after a pause due to the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic.” He further added that they are focused on ensuring the safety of visitors to the Kingdom so that tourists can enjoy exploring the country’s treasures, crucial destinations and other landmarks.

It said travellers, fully vaccinated with Saudi-approved jabs — Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson — will be able to enter the kingdom “without the need for an institutional quarantine period”, provided they also have proof of a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Covid-19 test taken within the last 72 hours and register their details with health authorities

It must be noted that the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are still not being accepted by the KSA from outside the country and the only pilgrims who performed Hajj and Umrah recently were the kingdom’s own citizens.

Earlier in February, Saudi Arabia had suspended entry to the kingdom from 20 countries, with the exception of diplomats, Saudi citizens, medical practitioners and their families, to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, the state news agency reported.

So far, 26 million jobs have been administered to the population of 35 million, and the kingdom has said that from August 1, vaccinations will be mandatory to enter government and private establishments, including educational institutions and entertainment venues, as well as to use public transport.

Saudi Arabia has registered more than 523,000 coronavirus cases, with 8,213 deaths so far.
