Woman smuggles baby, heroin & cocaine in Florida prison

According to investigators, a lady tried to sneak two pounds of hard drugs into a Florida prison.

According to a statement from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee resident Melissa Webster, 44, went to a DeSoto Correctional Institution visitation on Sunday with her infant grandchild, 100 grams of cocaine, and 100 grams of heroin (DSCO).

When police discovered the drugs during the check-in procedure, Webster was taken into custody.

In Webster’s car in the parking lot, a DCSO K9 used a “free air sniff” to discover an additional 690 grams of heroin and cocaine.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was entrusted with the care of the infant.

According to the statement, Webster was accused of trafficking heroin, and cocaine, bringing contraband into a prison, abusing or neglecting children, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office reported, “Thanks to this effort, over 800 grams (two pounds) of heroin and cocaine were kept out of our jail system and our community.”
