“Proud To Have Worked With You” – Fawad Pays Tribute To Asim Bajwa For His Services

Asim Bajwa resignation

Minister for Interior Fawad Chaudhry paid tribute to Asim Bajwa for his services, who stepped down as the chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.

Fawad Chaudhry in his tweet said that he is much proud to work with Asim Bajwa on such an important project for Pakistan’s betterment.

“Dear Bajwa, you have served Pakistan throughout your life in a manner that makes you so special, your contributions to Pak army, CPEC and media will always be regarded as a landmark, proud to have worked with you,” he wrote.

In an official announcement on Tuesday, Bajwa took Twitter to announce his decision to step down.

“I bow my head before Allah Almighty for giving me an opportunity to raise and steer the important institution of CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction,” Bajwa stated.

It would not have been possible without full confidence and support of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government, he added.

However, after his resignation, Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Khalid Mansoor as his special assistant on CPEC affairs.

His appointment symbolizes giving the control of CPEC back to the civilians, which appears in line with the strategy of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif who was against setting up the CPEC Authority.

The government had appointed Asim Bajwa as chairman of the CPEC Authority in November 2019 for a period of four years amid the opposition’s critique.

He remained director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations from 2012 to 2016. He is believed to be the father of the new ISPR but his critics blame him for the promotion of hate culture under the banner of the 5th generation warfare.
