Acclaimed singer Ali Zafar is over the moon after his Pashto song remains trending number 1 on YouTube and garnered huge success.

‘Larsha Pekhawar’ by Ali Zafar features Gul Panra and Fortitude Pukhtoon Core, dedicated to the Pashtun brothers and sisters. The singer took to his Instagram to express his feelings after his song received immense appreciation and love.

He posted the BTS dance clip from the song and expressed his gratitude saying: “While we were dancing on this, who knew the song will go on to trend on #1 for one whole month on @youtubemusic. A new record! This demands double celebration.”

The Jhoom Jhoom singer further said that that the record-breaking success needs to have a double celebration.

However, according to the music video’s description on YouTube, the song is a dedication to “Pashtun brothers and sisters”. “A tribute to their vibrant culture, values and most of all bravery,” it read.

In an earlier video message on Instagram, Zafar had called the song a “humble tribute to a great people with one of the most vibrant, honourable and powerful cultures in the world”.

Previously, Zafar took to Twitter to share the music video, stating: “Dedicated to one of the bravest, greatest and most resilient people – Pashtuns”.

The singer’s earlier two regional songs, Laila O’ Laila and Allay have surpassed a record 67 million views on YouTube alone.

The heartfelt tribute to the Sindhi traditions and culture, Allay, featuring rap star Abid Brohi garnered 30 million views on YouTube in just nine months. Whereas, the singer’s Balochi duet with 12-year-old child prodigy Urooj Fatima, Laila O Laila, recently crossed 37 million views on YouTube.

Taking to Instgaram, the 41-year-old singer has announced the release of his first-ever Pashto song.

After Sindhi and Balochi songs, Ali Zafar has released the first teaser of his upcoming Pashto song, featuring leading Pashto singer Gul Panra.

Taking to Twitter, the Pehli si Muhabbat singer shared the first teaser of much-adored Pashto songstress Gul Panra with an energetic song teaser.

“Yo Lo! TEASER ka maza lo! You guessed the co-singer right but you didn’t know there were two 🙂 Now guess the song?” Ali wrote along with the teaser.

The hit singer further revealed that the song will be released on this Pashtun culture day, “Releasing this Pashtun Culture Day.” he added.

Balaghal Ula Be Kamalihi is a popular qawwali most notably performed by the late Sabri Brothers, Ghulam Farid Sabri (1930-1994) and Maqbool Ahmed Sabri (1945-2011). It is a multilingual naat (praise to Mohammad PBUH) based on a popular Arabic quatrain (rubai) by the Persian poet Saadi Shirazi (1210-1292).

The four-line poem is interspersed with verses of Urdu and Persian poetry from origins.
