Political parties refuse to accept Akhtar Mengal’s resignation

Sardar Akhtar Mengal — chairman of Balochistan National Party (BNP) – Mengal — recently revealed that the political parties have refused to accept his resignation.

Akhtar Mengal also expressed his intention to discontinue his stay in the parliament.

He also affirmed that the appeasement attempts would not change his decision.

Accentuating the condition of the people of Balochistan, he explained that the apology should be obtained from the people of Balochistan, not him. He further said that this is not a case of personal enmity.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal also shed light on his attempts to make people realize, and hoped that the people would soon understand.

BNP chief Akhtar Mengal resigns from National Assembly

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) Chief Akhtar Mengal has resigned from the membership of the National Assembly.

While holding a press conference in Islamabad, Akhtar Mengal said that “I am announcing my resignation from the assembly today”.

He said that “I could not do anything for my people, I came after seeing the situation in Balochistan. I declare no confidence in the state, the president and the prime minister”. “I have not told this to anyone, but today I am telling it in this press conference”.

Akhtar Mengal said that people are not interested in the issue of Balochistan, “I have not been able to do anything for my people, whenever you talk about this issue, you are blacked out. There is only a nominal government left in the country, better than this politics, I should open a pakoda shop, 65,000 voters will be angry with me, I apologize to them”.

The BNP chief submitted his resignation to the National Assembly Secretariat where it was received by the National Assembly Secretary.

Election Tribunal allows Akhtar Mengal to contest election

QUETTA: The Election Tribunal allowed Balochistan National Party (BNP) Mengal Group chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal to contest the election from NA-264.

In Quetta, the Balochistan High Court Judge Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar heard the appeal against the rejection of BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s nomination papers based on Iqama.

On the occasion of the hearing, Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s lawyers Sajid Tareen and Jawad Ahmed appeared in the tribunal.

He thought that Sardar Akhtar Mengal had obtained Iqama for travel purposes, he did not get any financial benefit from Iqama, the tribunal inquired on this occasion whether there is evidence of Sardar Akhtar Mengal being employed by Iqama.

On which his lawyers said that there is no evidence of salary or financial benefit through the establishment of Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

The petitioner’s counsel said that Sardar Akhtar Mengal had not mentioned Iqama in his nomination papers which falls under the category of malice.

The BNP chief’s lawyer said that other political leaders also got Iqamas but they have been declared eligible for the election.
