QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) Chief Akhtar Mengal has resigned from the membership of the National Assembly.
While holding a press conference in Islamabad, Akhtar Mengal said that “I am announcing my resignation from the assembly today”.
He said that “I could not do anything for my people, I came after seeing the situation in Balochistan. I declare no confidence in the state, the president and the prime minister”. “I have not told this to anyone, but today I am telling it in this press conference”.
Akhtar Mengal said that people are not interested in the issue of Balochistan, “I have not been able to do anything for my people, whenever you talk about this issue, you are blacked out. There is only a nominal government left in the country, better than this politics, I should open a pakoda shop, 65,000 voters will be angry with me, I apologize to them”.
The BNP chief submitted his resignation to the National Assembly Secretariat where it was received by the National Assembly Secretary.
