ECP chief takes notice of attack on PPP election office in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Sikandar Raja took notice of the attack on the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) election office in Lahore and ordered the registration of an FIR in the incident.

Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Sikandar Raja took notice of the attack on the election office of People’s Party in Lahore.

Sardar Sikandar Raja ordered to file an FIR of the incident on the complaint of the PPP.

The spokesperson of the Election Commission said that instructions have been issued to IG Punjab in this regard.

The office of Pakistan People’s Party  was attacked with a petrol bomb in provincial constituency 162 of NA-127 of Lahore, as a result of which the banners and political flags on the doors were burnt.

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is seriously working on solving the problems of the city and we would continue the mission of development under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto.

The construction of Sarfraz Rafiqi Shaheed Road and Kala Pul Road will improve the transportation situation in the area and will provide facilities to the patients coming to Jinnah Hospital and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, he said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Sarfraz Rafiqi Shaheed Road and Kala Pul Road near Jinnah Hospital, said a statement on Friday.

Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that along with the construction of roads, drainage system and street lights had also been installed. As many as 80 poles and lights have been installed on the three roads. We do not forget the work after laying the foundation stone and get the project in the stages of completion as development work is going on in all the seven districts of Karachi without any discrimination, he said.

He said that we were working in all the districts of Karachi with the spirit of service without discrimination. The Tannery Road in Lyari will be completed soon while work on Korangi causeway bridge is going on fast, he expressed.

The Mayor Karachi said that we would lay the foundation stone of a sewerage scheme in central district and PPP will take steps to improve the sewerage system in Essa Nagri, he said that in the first phase of the Pakistan Life Savers program we will train the city wardens and after that traffic police personnel and other citizens will also be trained for this.

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami(JI) has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in which it has demanded a review of the intra-party election of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party(PPP).

Jamaat-e-Islami has written a letter to the ECP for the review of the intra-party elections of other parties, in which it has demanded the review of the intra-party elections of the Muslim League-N and the People’s Party.

This letter has been written by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Naeem, in which it is demanded that the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the election symbol should be implemented on all parties.

Hafiz Naeem has said that millions of voters have lost the right to vote for the party of their choice due to the decision of the Supreme Court, whereas Jamaat-e-Islami wants a level playing field for every political force and that there are several aspects to the issue for the party.

Jamaat-e-Islami said that intra-party elections in PML-N and PPP have not been held according to its spirit. Family and hereditary leadership are imposed in both parties, so the intra-party election of PPP and PML-N should also be examined in detail.

ISLAMABAD: Leader of political parties paid floral tributes to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed on her 16th death anniversary and remembered her political struggle and sacrifice for strengthening of democracy in the country which would always be remembered in the political annals of history.

On the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Akhunzada Chattan, while talking to media, presented salute to her unyielding resilience and unwavering vision for the nation’s development.

He said that Benazir Bhutto always advocated the politics of principles and had firm believe that a true democracy was the ultimate solution to Pakistan’s problems instead of sowing seeds of hatred among masses.

Sharmila Farooqi PPP leader also paid a glowing tribute and acknowledged the sacrifices made by Benazir Bhutto that her relentless efforts for the protection of the rights of downtrodden sections of society which will always be remembered.

Pakistan Muslim league-N leader Shaista Pervaiz Malik said that the martyrdom of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto was a huge loss for Pakistan, adding, there are many ways to admire her lifetime services but to me, her services for democracy trump them all.

On the occasion of scrutiny in Larkana, Bilawal Bhutto’s lawyers and party leader reached the Returning Officer Office where after scrutiny, the nomination papers of the Chairman People’s Party were approved.

It should be noted that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has submitted nomination papers from Larkana, Lahore, and Qamber Shahdad Kot for the upcoming general election of 2024.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan release the schedule of general elections as soon as possible.

People’s Party leader Faisal Karim Kundi said in a news conference “We want elections whether we get a level playing field or not”.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that the People’s Party’s position is that the elections should not go ahead even for a day and they will not tolerate any delay in it.

He said that elections should be held on the same date given by the ECP, Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are playing court games to postpone the election as both parties are afraid of going to public court.

He said “If the ordinances can be issued in the dark, the election can be held in the light of day and added that PPP will not tolerate any postponement of the election.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that Asif Ali Zardari will address a public meeting in Turbat on December 18, while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the Lahore High Court Bar on December 18.

The 9-member larger bench of the Supreme Court will hear the presidential reference on December 12.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa will head the larger bench.

In the larger bench, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hasan Ali Rizvi and Justice Musrrat Hilali are part of the larger bench.

It should be remembered that in 2011, the People’s Party government, through the then President Asif Ali Zardari, filed a reference in the Supreme Court regarding the execution of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

At that time, Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry formed an 11-member larger bench under his chairmanship, which conducted six hearings of the case from January 3, 2012, to November 12, 2012, but did not give any decision.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) is likely to hear a presidential reference  next week for revisiting former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s murder case judgment.

The presidential reference regarding Zulfiqar Bhutto’s execution is likely to be scheduled for a hearing next week. A larger bench will hear the presidential reference related to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The presidential reference will be heard under the supervision of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

Sources said that a larger bench will hear the presidential reference related to the judicial killing of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. A bench headed by the Chief Justice will be formed to hear the reference.
