A moving clip from the episode of “Hum 2 Hamaray 100” drama that recently aired acknowledged the rights and responsibilities of children in Pakistan.
Children are taught about the good touch/bad touch idea by an adult sitting down with them in a room. She tells the kids that they must tell their parents right away if any adult, other than their parents, touches them without their permission and makes them feel uncomfortable.

In his Instagram caption, the author, Syed Zain Raza, stated that he felt it was important to teach kids about body autonomy and how to say “no” due to the surge in rape and sexual assault cases in Pakistan.
We tried to discuss a subject that is more essential than ever in this episode of Hum 2 Humaray 100, yet we seldom ever hear people talking about it. Parks, schools, neighbourhoods, public transportation, and occasionally even their own homes are risky places for our kids. They must understand what constitutes good and terrible touch because of this. When kids are in danger, they must be aware of it.
If we don’t have these discussions with kids in a constructive manner, someone else will do so. It is important to teach kids about their physical autonomy and how to react if they feel threatened, terrified, or uneasy approaching an adult. They need to be assured that speaking to their parents won’t get them into trouble and that they are never to blame.
I was quite happy that the channel did not censor or otherwise dictate how we discussed this delicate subject. And most significantly, I want to express my gratitude to my director, @angelinemalikofficial, who gave me her complete blessing to write about all of these subjects. In this day and age, having a progressive and aware director is a blessing.
Social media users praised the showrunners in the comments section for handling a delicate subject in a sympathetic and uncensored way, which will assist more parents and kids watching this show in learning how to interact with one another regarding issues of bodily autonomy.
Leena Ghani, an activist and makeup artist, thanked the author for introducing such an important subject to popular media and handling it delicately.
“Such a sensitive and careful handling of such a crucial conversation regarding consent. Good job, Zain. We require information and understanding of this kind, she wrote.

Another user remembered the effect this scenario had on her mother, who later advised her nieces on consent in the same way.
“Mother was watching this scene on television when she realised she wanted to explain it to her nieces when they arrived. Quite powerful.”

It is heartwarming to see programmes like “Hum 2 Hamaray 100″ take the lead in raising awareness about social concerns in an era when the television is rife with chauvinism and inaccurate representations of women and their problems.
