PCB: New Zealand Cricket has not talked about any worries over upcoming tour

PCB: New Zealand Cricket has not talked about any worries over upcoming tour

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) denied the news about New Zealand Cricket’s worried about the upcoming Pakistan tour and told that (NZC) has not spoken to them over such concerns.

The PCB spokesperson stated that the cricket board was preparing for the New Zealand tour and the series is at its full steam, as was the case in earlier held home series and the Pakistan Super League.

He told that the players and match officials will love the status of state guests in Pakistan during their tour.

New Zealand media had previously reported that the team’s tour to Pakistan was subject to a security reconsideration as the players had expressed worries.

The media reported that New Zealand Press Association Chief Heath Mills said that whatever happening in Afghanistan is miserable and people, as well as the New Zealand players, were questioning the security check procedures.

The report also proposed that the NZC independent security consultant Reg Dickason will tour Pakistan the following week to ensure the security situation here, and his report based on a detailed evaluation will make the final decision whether they will tour Pakistan or not.

The PCB is fixed to the stance that the tour has been scheduled and it has nothing to do with the regional situation.

As per PCB, Reg’s visit in August was scheduled long ago and it has nothing to do with the Afghanistan issue.

PCB spokesperson told that Reg is an adviser of the England Cricket Board (ECB) too, hence he will provide his advice to them, also regarding England’s men and women teams’ visit to Pakistan, scheduled for October.

For now, England reported that ECB would also examine the security situation in Pakistan for the autumn ODI tour for England’s men’s and women’s cricket teams.

On the other hand, an ECB spokesperson told that there are always going to be security checks and procedures

Mohammad Rizwan: Some players want rest before T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan said that some players want to rest ahead of the T20 World Cup so that the team remains mentally and physically fit for the tournament.

In an interview, Rizwan told, “We have been playing continuously for last eight to nine months and the main thing is we are playing bio-secure bubble which is quite tough,”

He added, “Our main event is T20 World Cup and most of the senior players want to rest. Our physio has also suggested rest for our body and the players sitting on the bench have the best opportunity to showcase themselves,”

However, Rizwan denied the rumors that Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim and Babar Azam are divided on the selection of the team members.

He said, “I did not hear that there was any problem between the captain and the chief selector

He further said, There is no such thing that the captain and the chief selector are not on the same page, we are all one. Yes, there can be differences in opinion but in the end, we try to make decisions in the favor of the team,”

For now, Mohammad Rizwan is self-assured that his team will make a comeback in the 2nd Test against the West Indies after losing the 1st test by 1 wicket only.

Arif Malik, BCCI’s warnings actually helped KPL

Arif Malik

ISLAMABAD: Arif Malik, the president of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL), congratulated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, stating that the BCCI’s antics had benefited the league rather than hurting it.

“Thanks to the BCCI,” said Arif Malik, speaking on the Replay show on Dawn News. He stated: “This board is a mafia and is considered a terror in the world. Not only are they stopping the cricketers [from playing in the tournament], they are preventing our production crew from arriving [to cover the event].”

Before the entire controversy with the BCCI began, the KPL chief expressed concern about the league’s marketing, stating that the KPL currently has enormous social media popularity.

In response to a question, Malik stated that he was receiving calls from cricket boards all over the world, who were now interested in learning more about the KPL.

The BCCI’s “Hue and cry” has secured the KPL’s success even before it begins, he said, adding that his staff has put in a lot of effort and attention to the league.

Despite being cautioned by the BCCI not to participate in the KPL, he claimed that former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs and Sri Lanka’s Dilshan have consented to play.

He added that the former “will be here soon,” without specifying a date because of security concerns.

“Even our lives should be readily available” for an event like the KPL, Malik stated, adding that sentiments should be prioritized before workload management.

Aalia Rasheed, a sports journalist, concurred with the KPL president, stating that the BCCI had unknowingly helped promote the cricket league and generate excitement about it around the world in its attempt to block it.

In her tweet, she wrote: “While discouraging the international players from participating in the Kashmir Premier League, @BCCI has actually given the said T20 league a much-needed hype! The organizers of the @kpl_20 must be obliged.”

She responded to a social media user by asking why the BCCI went to such lengths to prevent Monty Panesar, Gibbs, and Dilshan from participating in the KPL if they were washed-up players.

Concerned about the KPL’s hosting in Pakistan, the BCCI issued a warning to foreign cricket boards last week for permitting its players to participate in the tournament.

Several foreign cricketers withdrew from the event, which is due to begin on August 6, after receiving threats from the Indian cricket board.

The KPL president, on the other hand, stated that the event will take on as planned, with Pakistani cricketers taking part.

Monty Panesar, Matt Prior, Phil Mustard, Owais Shah, and Tenu Best are the six overseas cricketers who have withdrawn from the KPL.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed dissatisfaction with the International Cricket Council (ICC) summoning some ICC members and compelling them to remove their former cricketers from the Kashmir Premier League.

“The PCB believes the BCCI has once again breached international norms and the spirit of the gentleman’s game by interfering in the internal affairs of the ICC members as the KPL has been approved by the PCB,” According to a statement released by the cricket board on Saturday,

“The PCB considers the BCCI has brought the game into disrepute by issuing warnings to multiple ICC members to stop their retired cricketers from featuring in the Kashmir Premier League, further threatening they will not be allowed entry into India for cricket-related work.”

Such behavior by the BCCI is entirely unacceptable, since it goes against the spirit of cricket’s preamble, and establishes a terrible precedent that must be condoned or disregarded, according to the statement.

“The PCB will raise this matter at the appropriate ICC forum and also reserves the right to take any further action that is available to us within the ICC charter.”

Not Only Man Of The Match But Every Player Of The Team Is Important, Wahab Riaz

Cricketer Wahab Riaz said that not only the man of the match but every player of the cricket team is important.

According to the details, cricketer Wahab while talking to the media said that if Mickey Arthur doesn’t consider me as a match-winner then why did he take me on the tour.

He said that young players are easy to talk to but it would be difficult to handle a senior player.

Shoaib Malik is the best middle-order batsman. I have not talked to Hassan Ali and Younis Khan yet.

He said, “I believe in my hard work. I hope the hard work will pay off. If I am lucky, no player can take my right. I am disappointed not to be named in the England tour.”

He added that while continuing his best efforts, there will be an opportunity. It is very difficult to beat England in England. He hoped that the national team performs well.

He concluded that only those who select can explain the selection process better. As a player, I am very disappointed.
