Azizullah Fazli is set to be recalled as the chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). Azizullah headed the ACB till 2019, including the World Cup, and will take over from Farhan Yousefzai.

According to the ACB constitution, the President of the country is the Patron-in-Chief and the chairman is the head of the board. Dr. Hamid Shinwari, the central authority, and CEO of the board overlook all the operations and administration of cricket.

ACB executives are confident about cricket and are focused on the upcoming bilateral series against Pakistan in Sri Lanka. The three-match ODI series, which has been moved from UAE, is set to take place in Hambantota from September 1 to 5.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), has granted permission for the venue but ACB is still awaiting approval. If the series is canceled for some reason, the Shpageeza Cricket League, Afghanistan’s local T20 competition, which is due to take place in Kabul, may be moved forward.

For the preparation of the Pakistan series, Afghanistan has already held two skill development camps recently, one for 15 days and another for 14 days.
