Latest Petrol Prices in Pakistan

On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Finance Division has announced an increase in the price of petrol in Pakistan starting on September 21, 2022.

The price of all petroleum products has changed for the balance of September, according to the specifics.

The announcement states that the price of petrol in Pakistan has increased by Rs. 1.45 per litre while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) in Pakistan has remained unchanged.

Meanwhile, the cost of light diesel oil (LDO) has dropped by Rs. 4.26 per litre while the cost of kerosene oil has been cut by Rs. 8.30 per litre.

As a result, the cost of petrol in Pakistan would rise to Rs. 237.43 per litre, while the cost of high-speed diesel will stay the same at Rs. 247.43 per litre.

While Light Diesel Oil (LDO) will now be sold for Rs. 197.28 per litre and Kerosene will now cost Rs. 202.02 per litre, respectively.

The most recent petrol prices in Pakistan went into effect on September 21, 2022, and they’ll stay that way through the end of the month, on September 30, 2022.

According to the announcement made by the Finance Division, “In wake of the fluctuating global oil prices and the exchange rate variations, the Government has decided to revise the prices of petroleum products.”

Prior to September 15th, it was stated that while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) may increase by Rs. 3.04 per litre, the price of petrol in Pakistan may decrease by Rs. 9.62 per litre.

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail later clarified, however, that only a 0.80 rupee per litre price increase will be made to petroleum products.

According to sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has begun work on a revised summary that might recommend a reduction in POL prices of up to Rs15.

According to insider sources, the government may offer assistance to the general public due to a reduction in the petroleum levy and other taxes.

The price of petrol is expected to decrease by Rs. 12 and that of diesel by Rs. 15.

Following the prime minister’s assent, new rates will be revealed on August 15 after OGRA provides a summary to the finance ministry on August 13 to determine new prices.
