Recently, Ed Sheeran talked openly about how Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee influenced his music.

The Perfect singer made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he talked about how Eric Clapton’s performance at the 2002 royal event inspired him again.

“It was in 2002, I was 11 years old, and I didn’t play the guitar at that time,” he told Stephen.

“I was watching this thing on television, Eric Clapton comes on and does the first opening bit of Layla and I’m like, what is that? He finishes the song, and I knew in that instant I want to be that,” Ed added.

The Shape of You hitmaker further expressed: “I want to have a guitar and I want to sing on stage. Then, ten years later, I’m playing the same thing – and I’ve just played the one ten years on from that, as well. It’s bonkers.”

Ed Sheeran faces a $100 million copyright infringement lawsuit

  • The dispute with the co-author, Ed Townsend, began in 2016. Townsend’s family also filed a lawsuit against the artist over Let’s Get It On.
  • He has argued that there is no “bright-line rule” for what constitutes original work.

Ed Sheeran has just been given the all-ahead to go on trial in a $100 million copyright infringement case.

He began by outlining the lack of any sort of “bright-line rule,” adding that a jury would be responsible for coming to a conclusion.

He wrote, “There is no bright-line rule that the combination of two unprotectable elements is insufficiently numerous to constitute an original work.”

“A work may be copyrightable even though it is entirely a compilation of unprotectable elements.”

For those who are unaware, this dispute with the co-author, Ed Townsend, began in 2016.

After selling a third of their shares to Structured Asset Sales for $100 million that same year, Townsend’s family also filed a lawsuit against the artist over Let’s Get It On.

Ed Sheeran delighted his audience by leading an impromptu chorus by the pool. According to Billboard, the 31-year-old “Bad Habits” singer performed a four-song set at O Beach Ibiza’s House in Paradise event, covering Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, and even Neil Diamond.

Wayne Lineker, the proprietor of the club, posted images and a video of Sheeran performing on Instagram. The video included Sheeran singing the Backstreet Boys song “I Want It That Way” from 1999.

Up until Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” he seemed to know every word, but Sheeran pulled for his phone to look up the verses while holding a wine glass and wearing cargo shorts.

He sang, “Da-da-da-da,” while giggling and searching his phone for Diamond’s words.

The cheering audience raised their phones in the air and enthusiastically sang the chorus.

According to Billboard, Sheeran admitted his fondness for karaoke before the release of “I Want It That Way.”

“I enjoy karaoke. You’re going to sing along with me as I sing karaoke right now “He then proceeded to jump off the stage, much to the dismay of his security detail, to dance and sing along with his audience to the catchy hit.

The artist opened the show with “Shape of You,” his smash single from 2017; he also covered Spears’ “Baby One More Time.”

After finishing the song, Sheeran launched a plush Pokémon into the air as a perfect prelude to the release of his upcoming anime-themed single, “Celestial,” on Thursday.

Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, and Shaquille O’Neal will donate personal items for a campaign to promote healthcare in Ukraine.

Seven months into Russia’s war, the WHO Foundation opened the “Human Kind” e-store, where fans may win celebrity-donated things.

The organisation planned to gather $53.7 million to support WHO’s efforts in war-torn Ukraine and neighbouring countries.

Shaquille O’Neal, Vitaliy Mykolenko, and other sports legends contributed signed shirts and jerseys.

Wladimir Klitschko, brother of Kyiv’s mayor, gifted a boxing glove.

Ellie Goulding and Shepard Fairey also appear.

Annie Lennox, who contributed a pair of sunglasses, called photographs from Ukraine “profoundly frightening.”

“I encourage everyone to do what they can to support the people of Ukraine through this crisis,” she said in the foundation´s statement, insisting that “healthcare is a human right that all deserve access to.”

Since Moscow invaded Ukraine on February 24, the WHO has documented 550 healthcare attacks.

The WHO says 5,900 civilians have perished and 8,600 have been injured, and over 12 million Ukrainian refugees are in Europe.

Over a third of Ukraine’s population, 17.7 million, needs aid.

The WHO has delivered 1,300 metric tonnes of medical supplies to Ukraine, including blood transfusion kits, pharmaceuticals, ambulances, oxygen, and surgical equipment.

The unusual name of their second child has apparently been announced by well-known singer Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry.

After keeping Cherry’s pregnancy “a secret,” the Shape of You singer and his wife welcomed their second child, a baby daughter, earlier this year.

Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran is the name that Ed and Cherry are said to have chosen for their daughter, and it is believed that the name holds special significance for the duo.

According to a Magazine, The Perfect singer, 31, and his childhood sweetheart wife, 30, chose the name in part because it denotes “bravery and boldness.”

A source close to the new parents revealed, “Ed and Cherry loved the name both in terms of what it stands for and its uniqueness. Everyone thinks Jupiter works perfectly for her.”

The source also added, ‘Cherry and Ed really are a match made in heaven. Their family is beautiful.’

Ed, who is currently on a world tour, shared an adorable picture of his daughter’s tiny white boots on Instagram earlier this year.

The singer announced her birth by writing in the caption: “I want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to now be a family of four.”

Ed and Cherry welcomed their first daughter Lyra Antarctica in August 2020.
