ISLAMABAD: The Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has revealed ambitious initiatives for the modernization of the Hajj pilgrimage in 2024, benefiting the 90,000 pilgrims from Pakistan.

A pivotal innovation entails the introduction of a mobile application intended to aid pilgrims throughout their sacred journey. Each pilgrim will receive a suitcase containing a customized QR code, carrying essential information and functioning as a digital guide.

This measure is anticipated to improve the overall pilgrimage experience and streamline logistical aspects.

The cabinet has granted its approval for the Hajj policy, and a noteworthy development is the pricing of the Hajj 2024 package at Rs 1,075,000.

This pricing strategy is aimed at increasing the affordability of the pilgrimage compared to the previous year, potentially widening the opportunity for a more diverse group of individuals to embark on this sacred journey.

In an additional initiative to ease financial burdens, the Ministry is currently in talks with airlines to secure concessions on airfares for pilgrims, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring that the spiritual journey is not only well-organized but also financially accessible to all participants.

This comprehensive modernization approach seeks to utilize technology and collaborative efforts to enhance the overall Hajj experience for Pakistani pilgrims in 2024.
