In a unique way of goods trafficking, tyre smuggling has been reported by the hands of trailer drivers in Attock.
It was revealed that the tyres of the 22-wheeler trailer included half new and half worn-out tyres.
The trailers used in the smuggling of tyres were carrying illegal Afghan refugees to Afghanistan.
On return from Afghanistan, tyre smuggling to Punjab was being carried out in a similar way.
The smuggled tyres were then sold by the drivers at high prices.
The use of worn-out and weak tyres during driving has recently become the cause of deadly accidents.
An accident which was recently reported at Hattian Attock claimed the life of two Afghan refugees, while they were heading back to Afghanistan.
Unfortunately, no action has been taken against the drivers involved in the smuggling of tyres while risking the life of passengers.
