Cash-strapped PIA cancels around 300 flights in two weeks

PIA Cancels 16 Flights due to 'Operational' Reasons

Cash-strapped PIA cancels around 300 flights in two weeks

Pakistan International Airline (PIA), that is on the verge of collapse due to financial crisis, has reportedly cancelled some 300 flights in past two weeks.

The cancellation of flights has resulted in significant financial losses, estimated at approximately 400 million rupees per day.

These losses have had a substantial impact on the airline industry.

To address this situation, sources suggest that allocating 200 million rupees daily to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) can lead to a full restoration of flight operations.

Currently, PIA is experiencing a situation where only 50% of the flight operations are operational.

The ongoing non-resumption of PIA’s flight operations has taken a toll on the national airline, resulting in a loss of billions of rupees over the past two weeks.

In contrast, private airlines are reportedly reaping substantial profits due to the disruption in the operations of the national airline.
