LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking access for investigation officers to residence of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan at Zaman Park in Lahore, Bol News reported.
The petition has been filed by IG Usman Anwar. He said police reached at Zaman Park on court’s order, but they faced immense resistance from the PTI supporters. He said multiple police officers and officials got injured because of stone-pelting by the political party workers.
The top Punjab police officer said the PTI supporters also threw petrol bombs which resulted in expensive vehicles’ catching fire. The activists damaged public property and took the law into their hands, he maintained.

He said there were reports of members of suspected organisations in Zaman Park. He said they wanted to arrest the PTI workers, hiding at Zaman Park, who took law into their hands.
“Police are unable to arrest the nominated suspects for not having access to Zaman Park. The court should allow police investigation officers to access Zaman Park,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should not consider himself a leader like former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bol News reported.
Addressing the Sindh Assembly, Murad Ali Shah alleged that Imran Khan had suicide bombers with him. He said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) party workers did not hurt anyone on death of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said on death of former PM Benazir Bhutto, a worker immolated himself. On the other hand, he said, Imran Khan had pushed people forward for dying.
The Sindh chief minister said they did not accept the court verdict, if it did not come as per their desire.
