UAE Ambassador meets Finance Minister, agrees to promote trade relations

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Saleem Al-Zaabi met the Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar on Thursday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the enhancement of bilateral economic relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and agreed to promote bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

Notably, Ishaq Dar said that the federal government is serious about promoting Islamic Banking in Pakistan and several steps are being taken with the cooperation of all the stakeholders in this regard.

Addressing a seminar about Islamic Banking in Karachi, he said that we respect the Shariat Court’s decision about interest-free banking.
Ishaq Dar said we have already withdrawn all the appeals against this decision.

He said we need to promote Islamic Banking in every sector and make it people-friendly so the people could turn towards it.
