Pakistan beat South Africa 33-run (DLS) on Thursday to stay alive in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Pakistan must win their final match against Bangladesh on November 6 and hope for good results in Group 2 to qualify for the semi-finals.

Pakistan hopes Zimbabwe or the Netherlands upset India or South Africa.

Pakistan would finish ahead of South Africa in the points standings and join India in the semifinals if they defeat Bangladesh on Sunday and the Netherlands upsets the Proteas against all odds.

Pakistan and India would tie on the points standings with six points each if Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and India loses to Zimbabwe. If so, Pakistan will go to the semifinals as they currently have a higher NRR than India (+1.117 vs. +0.730) and will so be eligible.

If Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and the match between South Africa and the Netherlands is called off, they will also advance.

South Africa would be limited to 6 points by the washout, although it would have less victories than Pakistan.

In the event that two or more teams have an equal number of points, the team with the greater number of victories will advance to the semifinals, as stated in clause 16.10.2(b) of the playing conditions. South Africa would have two victories and two washouts in a match between the Netherlands and South Africa, while Pakistan would have three wins if they were to win both games. However, there is no rain expected in Adelaide on Sunday.\
