ICC T20 World Cup 2022 – Australia vs Afghanistan Full Highlights

  • Rashid Khan’s blazing 48 off just 23 balls right at the end sent off some fireworks
  • Australia defeated Afghanistan by just 4 runs
  • Australians’ chances of advancing to the semifinals are still in serious doubt

During a nail-biting contest, Australia emerged victorious over Afghanistan by the slimmest of margins. The thrill was started by Rashid Khan’s blistering 48 off just 23 balls right towards the end of the match.

However, they were outscored by a total of four runs. On the other hand, Australia’s primary focus was on the comparatively uncomplicated task of advancing to the semifinals of the World Cup.

There was pressure exerted throughout the entirety of the game. During the time that Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis were batting together during their batting session, it appeared as though they had the potential to score 200 runs. However, they were unable to do so because of the excellent death bowling that was delivered by Naveen-ul-Haq, whose four overs resulted in 21 runs and three wickets.

When Afghanistan was down 101/5 in their bowling innings, Australia brought themselves back into the game thanks to a big partnership between Gulbadin Naib (39/23) and Ibrahim Zaidan (26/33). However, Rashid knocked a couple more, and the pendulum started swinging back and forth once more. After yet another lacklustre performance, the Australians’ chances of advancing to the semifinals are currently in serious doubt.
