England captain Jos Buttler welcomed a new era on Friday and said his “dangerous” team was “absolutely ready” to win the T20 World Cup 2022.
On Saturday, tournament favourites England meet Afghanistan in Perth.
Buttler replaced Eoin Morgan as England’s white-ball captain in June and led his team to a 2-0 T20 series triumph over Australia and a win over Pakistan before the World Cup.
Despite winning the Pakistan series, Buttler, 32, questioned England’s status as favourites.
