Today, King Charles III will embark on his first official state visit to Wales (on Friday). The newly crowned king and the Queen Consort, Camilla, will travel to Cardiff’s Llandaff Cathedral and attend a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth there while they are there.

Thousands of well-wishers are anticipated at Cardiff Castle to welcome their new King and former Prince.

As part of their itinerary, the royals will also visit with residents of the area. Additionally, the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, will have a special audience with the King.

The first 2,000 individuals in line will be allowed entry to the conference, which will take place at Cardiff Castle.

The First Minister, Mark Drakeford MS, will then present Charles and Camilla with a Motion of Condolence for Her Majesty at the Senedd in the afternoon.

“I’m glad that he’s got his opportunity to become King, it’s as it should be, obviously in sad circumstances but I think he’ll make a good King.” royalist Janine Brown remarked upon the King’s arrival in Wales.

Over 53 years were spent as the Prince of Wales by King Charles III.

In his first speech to the country following the issuing of the proclamation, King Charles announced Prince William as the new Prince of Wales.
